As the head of investment strategy for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Australia, Malcolm Wood and his team produce insightful research incorporating all facets of the investment landscape. Zhining joined the Victorian Government in 2004 as Manager, International Investment for Greater China. He manages Invest Victoria’s investment pipeline for China and has been involved in facilitating a number of successful Chinese projects, invested by both the state-owned and private enterprises, in areas of renewable energy, agribusiness, manufacturing and ICT. He also works with the four Victorian Government Business Offices in China to attract new investment. Prior to this role, Zhining worked with the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation in Dalian (China) in areas of foreign investment attraction and facilitation. Zhining holds a Bachelor of Arts, a double degree in Finance and a Master of International Business. |

Dr Xueli (Charlie) Huang is Senior Lecturer at RMIT University, Australia. He was the Founding Director of the China-Australia Business Research Centre at Edith Cowan University between 2007 and 2010, and Deputy Director of Australia-China Iron and Steel Industry Training Centre between 1990 and 1995. His research focuses on Chinese investment in Australia, and strategic management. He is co-author of Chinese investment in Australia: Unique insights from the mining industry, published by Palgrave Macmillan (2011).

Barbara has worked for more than 15 years in both China and Japan. She worked for private enterprise in Japan before joining the Australian Trade Commission - working as the Trade Commissioner to Beijing and Shanghai. She also worked as the Trade Commissioner to Tokyo and the Deputy Consul General to Western Japan. From 2006 to 2007 Barbara was the Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Melbourne assisting some of Australia’s largest companies better understand the China market. In 2012 Barbara returned to the trade Commission to lead the Trade Services area in Melbourne. |
